LUCKY PENNY CREATIVE SPECIALIZES IN
DETAIL ORIENTED, FLAWLESSLY ORGANIZED, ATTENTIVE AND FRIENDLY
EVENT PLANNING & STYLING FOR ALL EVENTS—BIG AND SMALL,
BUSINESS AND PLEASURE, QUIRKY AND CHIC.
Our mission is to support our clients in being fully present for their special occasions by masterfully averting the stress and frustration of event planning. Lucky Penny Creative values kindness and creativity in equal measure, and cultivates a working style that encourages new ideas, inclusivity, and hard work.
Alex Fisher, owner and operator of Lucky Penny Creative, has over 14 years experience in the event planning industry. An Asheville native, Alex’s very first job serendipitously situated her in the world of event planning as an event assistant for Homewood Castle, one of Asheville’s premier venues. She then acquired behind the scenes planning know-how as a floral designer with the fabulous crew of Blossoms at Biltmore Park for five years. During her time with Blossoms she also attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville where she received her Bachelor’s in Photography with a minor in Business Management.
From 2009 to 2017, Alex produced and managed the National Arts & Crafts Conference at the Omni Grove Park Inn. With over 125 exhibitors and thousands of attendees from across the United States, it is the largest and longest running conference of its kind, celebrating the Arts and Crafts Movement and Revival since 1988. Alex has also served as the Events Coordinator for the Asheville Art Museum, planning and implementing wide-ranging events including their Fine Art Print Fair, The Big Crafty, The Big Day, Black & White Soiree, and Toast Asheville. Alex’s multifaceted experience gives her a unique set of tools for conceptualizing, producing, and implementing special events.
Alongside Alex’s expertise in event planning and styling, her interest in do-it-yourself craft cultures and fine art shapes her design aesthetic. Alex splits her time between Asheville, North Carolina and Greenville, South Carolina and offers Lucky Penny Creative services from Upstate South Carolina to the Western North Carolina mountains and all across the Southeastern United States.
When she’s not planning events, Alex enjoys hiking, trying out new recipes and DIY projects, writing, keeping a cozy home with her partner Ethan, visiting her local coffee shops, volunteering her time with community non-profits and enjoying a Harry Potter movie marathon every now and then.
"At the heart of Lucky Penny Creative is a soul that thrives on detail, creativity, warmth, laughter, inclusion and good ol' fashioned gushy love. I want our clients to know how welcome they are no matter what their wedding entails. I want them to know that their wildest wedding dreams are 110% achievable as long as they're staying true to their coupledom. And most importantly, I want them to know they have a friend and ally with them every step of the way as they maneuver the ins and outs of wedding and event planning and styling. At the end of the day, their love shines brightest. And that's what keeps me going. All the late night craft sessions, mountains of coffee and 18+ hour wedding days are to celebrate their truest love. And what an incredible pleasure it is to be a part of that."

2017 Summer InteRN
Caroline Terry, Furman University Class of 2018
Caroline Terry, a rising senior Communications Studies major at Furman University, is a lifelong Upstate resident and major list-writer. She’s been organizing events since first grade and always ended up hosting friends’ get-togethers and special occasions for family.
With a heart for toddlers, Caroline has spent most of her spare time and past breaks from classes working with children at the Clemson FBC Child Enrichment Center. She’s also coordinated events as the activities chair for the Tri-Delta sorority Gamma Xi chapter at Furman.
When she’s not studying or planning, you can find her running on the Swamp Rabbit trail with her best friend, binge watching the latest viewing craze on Netflix, or trying out the newest Mexican restaurant in the Greenville area. Caroline hopes to put her classwork, skills, and enthusiasm to work at Lucky Penny Creative this summer, learning as much as possible, contributing where possible, and assisting the staff in making clients’ dreams a reality.
